FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Company Launches Learn Bahrain Education Website
April 7, 2004

Orlando, Florida – The Communications Company L.L.C. announced the launch of the new educational website www.LearnBahrain.com. The site is part of an effort to reach millions of young Americans with a more accurate image of the people and culture of a progressive Arabian Gulf nation. A 56-minute documentary film and a nationwide promotional effort to educators and the general public are part of the initiative.

The company principals just returned from a 45-day shoot in Bahrain, the small island kingdom off the coast of Saudi Arabia and above Qatar. “The website is currently a placeholder for the multi-tiered educational website to come,” says Senior Producer Christel M. Crane. “The editing of the film is time consuming, and so many wonderful people that we met in the Kingdom asked when they could see something from the shoot, we felt we just had to get something on the Internet for them to see right away.”

“Future citizens must develop some understanding of other cultures in order to help make rational decisions about the West’s role in the world. We also discovered how little current material there is on the Middle East and how much educators and students want materials on this region and its culture. We have another successful film series in schools, so it was a not only a logical thing for us to do, but something we really wanted to do.”

Web designer Nancy Saltz will be working on the main educational site soon. “I haven’t been to the Gulf States myself, but the first group of pictures the crew shot certainly gives a much different view than we get every day in the news.”

A mother of four children herself, the producer realized after talking with educators that what students currently have access to in school is not enough. According to the producer, “The site will be greatly expanded in next few months - to be ready for next school year.”

Corporate sponsors have already begun stepping forward to help with the funding of this educational initiative. “We prefer to call them investors”, says Crane, “because by investing in peace through understanding, they are not only helping to insure the future stability and safety of the region but they are investing in continued prosperity and trade.”

A landmark Free Trade Agreement with the U.S. was recently signed, the first in the Arabian Gulf region. The Kingdom is already a financial hub, and it is expected that the agreement will further facilitate cordial relations and trade between Bahrain and the U.S.
