FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
“People & Culture of the Gulf” Moves Ahead
September 15, 2003
Castle Rock, Colorado – The Communications Company, an award-winning firm with extensive international experience, announced today that they are moving ahead with a giant program to build greater understanding between Arab and Western cultures. The project carries the working title of “People & Culture of the Gulf” and will involve filming in the Kingdom of Bahrain, the State of Oman, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar, and the State of Kuwait. Information Ministries in both Bahrain and Oman have already announced their support.
The producers were moved to launch the project after research revealed that little was known by the average person about the Arabian Gulf States, countries that continue to play a pivotal role in current events. The materials generally available to educators is out of date and not targeted to student needs. Over 50 million students will graduate from U.S. high schools alone over the next decade. The producers feel that future citizens must develop some empathy and understanding of other cultures in order to help make rational decisions about the West’s role in the world.
The overall project includes multiple high-end documentary films, multiple educational websites based on educator needs and a public relations effort. The target audience includes educators and students in the English-speaking world as well as influentials in the media and government. Broadcast and educational distribution to the applicable Gulf States is planned as well.
A number of companies who have an active presence and/or interest in the Kingdom are being asked to assist. The production company is offering favorable publicity both during production and following production. A typical promotional package will include prominence in the program credits, mention on the website(s) as a supporter and mention in public relations efforts.
Advance notice of the project was featured in the June 10th issue of the Gulf Daily News.
Principals of the company are available for interviews in print, radio or broadcast television.
